First off my beloved priests, our T13. I am not sure about it. I really like T12 so far. T13 reminds me of Holloween and mardi gras. Well with Transmog, it’s a moot point.
The bonuses for t13:
- Healer, 2P — After using Power Infusion or Lightwell, the mana cost of your healing spells is reduced by 25% for [10|15] sec. (10 sec for Discipline, 15 for non–Discipline.)
- Healer, 4P — Your Power Word: Shield has a 10% chance to absorb 100% additional damage, and the cooldown of your Holy Word abilities is reduced by 20%.
- Shadow, 2P — Shadow Word: Death deals an additional 55% damage, and you no longer take damage from your own Shadow Word: Death when the target fails to die.
- Shadow, 4P — Your Shadowfiend and Shadowy Apparitions have a 100% chance to grant you 3 Shadow Orbs each time they deal damage.
For healers: I am not sold on the 2P, especially as Holy. But it could be worse. For 4P – one word: blarg.
Shadow definitely wins out here. To be honest I would not be surprised to see it altered in some form before final release.
The changes to Holy for 4.3 are a step in the right direction – the changes to Divine Hymn and the ability to strenthen it and lessen its cooldown is quite nice. Its also nice to see they are fixing atonement to take into account large hitboxes (Beth’Tilac, and Rag made atonement useless)
The changes to Wild Growth were surprising to me.
•Wild Growth healing value has been reduced by 20%.
•Glyph of Wild Growth now also increases the cooldown on Wild Growth by 2 seconds.
Straight up nerf to druids? Why? Sure they are healing beasts, but does not make them seem OP or anything. It’s the player playing the class which makes it’s good, not the class. bad player still means bad druids.
Paladin’s also got some changes – no more mana from judging…they have to use spirit more. Why? Maybe someone can answer this, but are there low spirit paladins out there? (I know as disc i reforged a bunch of it away)
Other things that caught my eye was the new mounts. 🙂
Dancing Darkmoon bear! yes, please!
Also I know I should not have looked at it, but I could not help but look at the dungeon jounrnal preview for the new raid.
A few things caught my eye.
1.) Looks like a lot of damage sharing, so stacking…(SR we are screwed)
2.) Other mechanics where the raid may have to use the boss’ own abilities against it.
3.) Thrall as Earth Warden? not surprised really.
4.) Tyrande of the past…hawt….hopefully they will also make this her in game model. It’s quite impressive looking.
I’m totally OP, but we like it like that, right? This nerf is stupid.
Past model – Illidan is going to inspire a LOT of angsty fanfic. Like, more than I expect he already does.
LOL yeah the illidan model…yeah I can see lots of angst starting cause of that. Like him or not he is a quite the iconic character in the WoW world.
Yeah as far as druids, not sure if the nerf was needed, as i said a druid can only be OP by the player controlling them.
Druids are currently over represented in raids as healers. As of right now, the 10 healers for 10-man normal Beth, Rhyo, Majordomo, and Rag are ALL resto druids. They hold 9 of the top 10 for Alysrazor and 8 of the top for Shannox. They only have 2 of the top 10 for Baleroc, but that fight doesn’t work well with druid healing and mana. The other versions (25-mans and heroics) follow the same pattern with druids representing over half the top 10 spots.
The nerfs to pally mana regen are probably needed as well. The most common thing our pally says at the end of a fight is, “I had almost full mana the whole time.” So to prevent pallies from being smacked about by their counterparts with poorer mana regen they are being nerfed for their own good.
Looking forward to the DH changes, I might actually use it more often. Surprised you had issues on Beth with Atonement. Al’Akir and Rag are the only two I’ve ever had issues on. I tend to not have the GCDs on Beth to use it… but when I do, it does work.
Tyrande came out looking hawt as did Aszshara and Ysera. I’m digging the amount of detail that’s going in to these new models.
True druids represent a lot of the best healers, but who are they representing, the top crust of a player base (ignoring gimmicks or deliberate setups to get ranked) they are good players, a bad player more then likely would not be able to do that.
Classes are only as good as the player that plays them. But I can understand why Blizz did it, but it’s odd cause they had buffed WG back in 4.06.
With holy pallys…the mana issue is a funny one, reminds me of pallys back in Wrath. If all these pallys had so much mana, why not reforge spirit into more throughput?
The Dviine Hymn changes are much needed, but not sure if it is enough for me to try out holy again. The talents to alter them are deep in the holy tree.
Atonement change is nice as well.
New models are win..hopefully they get around to changing the old player models as well soon.
Yes, skill makes up a big part of it, but you can’t tell me that all these druids just now became skilled and sucked in early Wrath content. Progression guilds theory craft and sim all the numbers and stack the raid deck in their favor. Druids, probably even ones of marginal skill, are capable of putting out heals in the appropriate numbers to the appropriate targets with less effort than the other classes in their current design.
The results of this link are dynamic so this probably won’t be the same in a few months, but see for yourself: http://www.worldoflogs.com/rankings/players/Firelands/hps/
Normal 10-man we see druids making up 84% of the top 10. Pallies make the next strongest showing around 13%. Shaman and holy priests are nowhere and the only reason disc priest (about 2%) makes the top at all is because of absorbs on Baleroc.
Look at the rankings for Ulduar (since no one is really going back to that content to screw with the numbers). Just looking at normals (excluding Flame Leviathan and Algalon) pallies were the most represented – with only 34%. Druids were just over 30% with Shaman/Disc/Holy making up the remaining third.
There is a balance issue. We can’t say that 84% of the good healers play druids now when only 30% of them played druids in Wrath. All the good pallies must have rerolled druids…
lol true. I guess when they strengthened druids a bit back at the beginning of cata, they did a little too much of the buff medicine.
It’s not a nerf to pally mana regen. Read ALL of the changes … the mana regen was rolled into Judgements of the Pure. Basically, now you only have to judge once every 30s instead of once every 8s. As if I really judged that often … I have also removed some of the spirit from my gear.
I was looking at that Mr. Robot today that so many gush about, and that idiot wanted me to replace almost all of my red gems with purple int/spirit gems … and that was with it set on throughput and not mana conservation! Stupid.
Mr robot does some odd things for sure
I’m not a fan of Mr. Robot. IMO it is bad about break points on haste and over estimates stat wieghts when it feels that they are under a predetermined “ideal” level.
This T13 set makes priests look like a candelabra.
eww your eyeless sockets cry black tears
Thank goodness for helm hiding options
Can’t wait to see it heading up a tauren’s hunch. And then hide it forever. Probably look good on a belf tho.
