Heroic Ultraxion

Ok….this fight is easy on paper.

For those who have passed this boss on Heroic…how do you get people to improve on their hitting heroic will in time….that is the issue holding us back. Hitting that damn button! Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We tell people to watch the cast bar, etc etc. Not sure what else out there can help people – besides baby sitting people.

Dude. They spent half of the raid last night looking at dudes dressed as chicks and comparing them to you … do you *really* think nekkid slice pics are going to solve this?

    Call them out.

I have raid review threads for each raid we do where I link the logs. I will occasionally go for a “log dive”, in which I go through the progression fight(s) and point out every single error.

“Mage got killed by Fading Light.”

“Rogue ate the wrong Hour of Twilight.”

    etc.

“These kinds of deaths aren’t acceptable. If one of you dies, we’ll almost certainly wipe.”

I’m not mean about it. But I’m firm and I’m going to call out officers and raiders and initiates alike. If you screw up, you’re going to hear about it. And it’s just very “matter of fact”, you know?

“Gee, if Hunter hadn’t died to that last Fading Light, we would have had a kill. We can all do better.”

Oh that isn’t the issue. We all know who it is. It is just a matter of getting said people to hit the button.

Right now we have two people who regularly miss the button and one of them missed it because he hadn’t seen the fight on heroic until last night. The other ones were people either pushing to squeeze off some more dps before they hit the button (I was guilty of that one) or thinking they hit it when they didn’t. Most of the time we call ourselves out.

This fight is so frustratingly easy on paper, it drives me nuts all one has to do is hit a button or use your own classes mechanics and people still flail about lol.

@ Kurn – The people who are messing up know who they are and call themselves out but I am just cannot think of anything else to do, to make them hit the button. – Got room for a disc priest? XD

    Agreed Arioch if you cannot do it on normal, heroic maybe an issue, the odd thing is, the people do not have an issue on normal. Go figure ><;

meh, it’s just like learning to dodge tornado’s.

    repetition is king!

It’s usually the same people that mess up mechanics, some people just have a faster learning curve than others.

As long as it’s not getting worse then I’m ok w/ it.

Every time you’re about to go red slice, just look at this!

We all know cat girls >>>> red slice!

My problem on that fight was that I’d actually hit the button too early and be back in the twilight realm before Hour went off. I had to really work to make myself wait until the complete end of sexy countdown.

Our officers would post the people who DIDN’T screw up and praise them. Was a bit more motivating than calling out the people who screwed up.

What made us get the kill, though, was just repetition. As soon as more than 1-2 people died, we’d wipe, run back. Eventually we got tired of running back and stopped screwing up.

That was the problem we were having (at least I was having) when we were learning this fight on normal. We really aren’t that negative in our group. As mentioned above, when someone messes up, we own up to it. Usually you will hear in vent an “aw shit” or a really loud “FUCK” when someone misses it. The dead raider or wiped group that follows is a prime indicator.

We are pretty good at just wiping and running back when a death happens. Using our only brez in the beginning of the fight is not a good sign.

I think the only ones getting red are usually Slice and Sorak. Possibly Adoe too.
