Black and Blue part 2

Why why why....die you pest!

Magmaw!!!!

How do you do it?

Does your guild use the sacrificial lamb method? (one brave raid member stand out to eat the pillar) And then kill the adds?

Or does your guild have everyone move in between 2 “camps”?

Or do you have an Off tank handle the adds?

Each method has its pros and cons I would have to say.

Not quite sure what to do at this point….the OT method seemed to work for us but issues to work out.

I admit I am a bit irked DPS cannot kill them fast enough? Maybe cause I have not played a DPS seriously. But burst or not….why cannot DPS kill them still? If they get close…move away and DPS them from a safe distance again….Pillar of Flame is on a 25 second timer….25 secs….that is a long time in my opinion.

People signing up and not showing up…..

People signing up and not coming prepared……

People not using consumables…..

The list goes on, but I dont want to step on people’s feet/egos/feelings.

I am sorry slice but by not wanting to step on people’s feet/egos/feelings you have stepped on my feet/egos/feelings 🙂

We’ve been trying the sacrificial lamb method. Our lamb of choice has typically been a warlock (because of the demonic portal), which suits this mage just fine. :p

The group I dps in, had issues killing them fast enough. We have two mages, so we tried going frost for the chill effect on blizzard. That slows them down, but isn’t enough dps, so this week, one of us will be fire for the added aoe punch. Other tricks we tried included an affliction lock for the aoe seed of corruption, and a boomkin for the slowing effect of their wild mushrooms (not to mention hurricane and the knockback effect of typhoon).

We had no hunter available in that group, but in the one I heal, we had an option to have a mage switch out for his hunter. Hunter traps help a lot. We also had a frost DK, as well as two locks, so we could have one affliction, and one destro for the shadowfury. One of the locks had been in both groups, so that group kinda got to piggyback on what we had learned in the first group, and had much better success.

You will get it eventually. I remember people getting stuck on Marrowgar at first, too. (“Why can’t people kill the spikes and get out of the blue shit?!?!?!?!)

All of us stand in melee range of the boss except the hunter.

(I promise – this works amazingly well.) No ranged/healer in the group will ever move throughout the fight. The hunter misdirects to our frost DK when the pillar happens and multishots a bit. The rogue runs out and TotT the DK. A few howling blasts later and he’s got secure aggro and just runs in circles for a few moments until they’re dead. We usually have a warlock and mage in the raid as well. They do their standard AOE. The warlock is Demo for this fight and his Felguard makes “lol mincemeat” of the adds.

    Good luck, Slice!
